A student-oriented field
trip is the focus of the first day. The field

will visit the 30m flux tower on Mount Bigelow
and conclude with a tour of fire-induced flooding
and public education displays at Sabino Canyon.
The objective of the field trip is for students
to build stronger personal and research contacts
and to expose them to several interdisciplinary
research problems.

The keynote speaker will
be Ghassem Asrar, speaking on the application
of NASA satellites and data to large-scale hydrologic
issues.
This is the meeting’s plenary
day, which is focused on a few highly integrated
and publicly accessible science talks providing
an overview of SAHRA accomplishments, research
directions and rationale. Education and Knowledge
Transfer programs will be highlighted in the
afternoon. Posters covering every facet of SAHRA
research will also be introduced and available
for viewing during an early evening reception.
